Stoke up the fires, sharpen the knives and start chopping the rosemary and sage for Autumn has arrived.
It’s not just a palate of colours that signals the arrival of Autumn… our tasting palate is looking for something a little rounder, warmer and comforting too. This latest wine tip is a delicious syrah by one of Secret Sommelier’s favourite producers, Jean-Luc Colombo.
La Violette Syrah 2012 is a perfect wine for enjoying throughout Autumn, with a range of herbaceous aromas evoking Provence, a lovely scent of violets intermingling, tickling the senses.
You can match this with a wide range of autumnal dishes including roast lamb cutlets infused with rosemary & garlic… hmm.. slow roasted shanks…
This is not a complex wine but hugely pleasurable and real bargain, especially if you are buying cases online where the price drops under £8 a bottle.
This wine meets the terms of our motto: Why take 1 when 6 is more efficient?
