Every now and again we stumble upon a bottle of joy in the oceans of bottles that stand before us on the shelves of our high street wine retailers.
This pure chardonnay Cremant de Bourgogne is one such joy and the absolute perfect summer party wine. It has a crisp but not overpowering acidity with good bubbles and yummy apple, pear, white peach and very slight biscuity flavours.
This will please and surprise lovers of champagne. Serve as an aperitif with a mackerel paté or lip smacking pork belly.
Delicious and exceedingly good value, priced around £13.50 a bottle from Oddbins
