Serving Many Moods
The restaurant offers easy all-day access with a number of tables available to “walk-ins”, a terrace for sun worshippers and crowd watchers, and a chance for more people to experience a smidgen of Ivy magic. The Ivy Market Grill, its delicious comfort food menu, quaffable cocktails and varied drinks menu, and friendly, knowledgeable service is equally effortless in its style.
Martin Brudnizki Design Studio has put together a design story over the two floors that nods to the late 19th century industrial age – a faded grandeur illustrated in the mosaic floor tiles, the antique brass chandeliers, distressed paintwork and marble table tops in the café area. There are hues of green, reminding us of the alma mater – The Ivy, with an orange and pewter bar acting as a theatrical centrepiece.
There are 2 private rooms at The Ivy Market Grill – The Pygmalion and The Galatea. The Pygmalion seats 40 on round tables (24 on one long table) and accommodates 50 for canapés. The Galatea seats 24 on rounds, 14 on one long table and 35 for canapés. Both rooms sit below the restaurant on Henrietta Street in the heart of Covent Garden, just across the cobbles from the actors’ church, St Paul’s and the Apple store. The rooms are wood panelled and adorned with photos of stage and screen stars. They are skilfully lit and very atmospheric. Open for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Monday to Sunday, the rooms are equally suited to the private and corporate worlds. Presentations and launches, networking events, company get-togethers and client entertaining work perfectly in both spaces, not to mention anniversary dinners, cocktail parties, bijou wedding celebrations, birthdays and intimate gatherings.

Soave: volcanic wines with elegance and longevity
Sitting inside the ancient castle walls inside the town of Soave, a short drive from Verona in northern Italy, the unique slightly almond aroma of the indigenous grape, Garganega, rises gently from my glass. The castle sprawls up the side of an extinct volcano that gives the region its variant soil structures that mark out the better quality of Soave wines.
